Paula Choice Skin Recovery  SPF 15

Many of you may be wondering about the brand name Paula’s Choice but she is the women who wrote the famous books: “don’t got to the cosmetics counter without me,” and “don’t go to the hair care counter without me.”  Basically her books provides reviews of popular products on the market so that consumers will be informed when before they go to the store.  Basically, you’ll have some idea what’s sucks and what you should trying before going to the store. Since writing her first book, Paula Begoun has come out with her own line called Paula’s Choice.  Some people have not tried her product because its kind of weird to have someone who writes reviews on other products to also have her own line which she also reviews. I am not saying Paula is dishonest but some people are going to be skeptical of a woman that reviews other products when she has her own line as well. Can anyone be that objective? I really don’t know.

Paula’s website ( states that her skin recovery lotion replenishes normal to very dry skin and protects from daily sun damage.  She further claims that it contains potent antioxidants and restores and helps to maintain healthy radiant skin.

This product comes in a tube packaging that protects it from the environment which is great.  It has titanium dioxide and zinc oxide in its ingredients which means it provides effective UVA/UVB protection and is also great for the more sensitive skin types.

The lotion is thick and can be difficult to blend into the skin if too much was applied.  Some may also find that it leaves a white hue on the skin if not blended well.  You will find that a little goes a long way here.  If you find that are having these problems, wash your face off and use less product. Also, if you are someone that wears a sunscreen during the winter months you may like this because of the thickness of the lotion and how it leaves a barrier over the skin.  It is almost like makeup at times. When applied it may looks like makeup has been applied but one blends really well with your  skin tone. It is not like a regular moisturizer. It may be quite obvious to the user that some product has been applied but others may think you just have really good skin.  What I like about it is that even though it states that its for normal to very dry skin, it doesn’t leave your skin greasy or overly shiny and personally I think it would be good for all skin types.

Paula’s Choice is sold at Ms. Begouns website for $20.95 for 2 ounces, which some may find a bit pricey but if you use Olay is really around the same price.  I will give Skin Recovery with SPF 15, four stars for an outstanding moisturizer with effective sun protection.
